Enhanced Skin Rejuvenation
We’re pleased to offer Enhanced Skin Rejuvenation, a revolutionary skin treatment using multiple laser wavelengths to reduce pigmentation, broken capillaries, and wrinkles and improve facial toning. It is most often performed on the face and neck, but the chest, hands, arms and legs can be treated as well.

What are the benefits?
Enhanced Skin Rejuvenation is ideal for eliminating a variety of problems including:
• broken capillaries • wrinkles • rosacea • spider veins
• age spots/sun spots • large pores • freckles • flushing
• pigmentation variances
How does it work?
Laser energy is absorbed by pigmented areas where it is converted to heat, causing a breakup in the pigment. In broken capillaries and spider veins, the laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the blood and collapses the unwanted vein. For wrinkles and skin toning, the laser stimulates collagen growth. Your Bala Family Practice medical professional will analyze your skin condition and help you select the most effective treatment for you.

When will you see results?
Effects are cumulative. After the first treatment you will see improvements in broken capillaries, small facial veins and some pigmented areas within a few days. Other improvements such as wrinkle reduction and toning will be more subtle and may take up to one to three months. Friends may suggest that you look more rested. With each subsequent treatment, subtle changes will accumulate until you have achieved the improvement you desire.

How often can you have it done?
A series of three to five treatments for vascular and pigmentation rejuvenation; five to seven treatments for overall collagen remodeling. Occasionally, more treatments may be needed for certain individuals or conditions. Periodic occasional maintenance treatments may be necessary for optimal, lasting results.

What can you expect immediately after treatment?
Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness, swelling and/or a slight darkening of pigmented areas. The redness and swelling usually dissipate within one to three days; however, darkened pigmentation may persist and FLAKE OFF for up to 10 days following treatment. Makeup can be applied to the treated area immediately, if necessary. Additionally, hair growth may be impaired in the treated area, although it is not the intended purpose of this particular treatment. It is extremely important to apply a moisturizer and SPF 45 sun block and avoid sun exposure on a
daily basis to prevent additional sun damage.

How long does it take?
This treatment takes approximately 20-60 minutes. Prescribed topical anesthetics should be applied
30-90 minutes before the treatment time if needed.

Elimination of Vascular and Pigmented Irregularities.
This includes sun damage, skin discoloration, reduction of small facial blood vessels and wrinkles. These multiple laser treatments really work and have minimal down time. We’re pleased to offer a revolutionary new laser treatment that can quickly and safely eliminate unsightly leg veins, spider veins and broken capillaries up to 4 mm in diameter.

What are the benefits?
Our advanced technology minimizes the redness and bruising normally associated with traditional treatments. Best of all, our technology allows us to treat people of any skin type including tanned skin.

How does it work?
The laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in your blood and collapses the unwanted vein. The laser energy is delivered through a hand-held device with a cooling tip that protects your skin.

When will you see results?
The appearance of leg veins will either dramatically fade or completely disappear during the treatment. This is a temporary effect. Some vessels may show temporary swelling that will subside after a few hours to a few days. The redness of the treated vessels will gradually
disappear as the healing process occurs. This may take between two and twelve weeks.

How often can you have it done?
Most patients see excellent improvement after just two treatments. Everyone responds differently to treatments, with some needing only one treatment and others requiring multiple treatments. You can optimize your results by closely following the post-treatment instructions.
The usual treatment interval is eight to twelve weeks.

Are there any side effects?
Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness in the treated area. The redness usually dissipates within one to three days. Also, although it is not the intended
purpose of this particular treatment, hair growth may be impaired in the treated area.

How long does it take?
Most treatments will take between 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated. Prescribed topical anesthetics should be applied 30-90 minutes before the treatment time (this is greatly encouraged to increase your comfort).

“No Down Time” Wrinkle Reduction. Stimulates collagen formation.

Reduce and Eliminate Shaving Bumps. We use the first FDA cleared laser for the treatment of pseudofolliculitis, more commonly known as shaving bumps.
Laser energy is absorbed by pigment in actively growing hair, damaging the hair follicle and thus, hair re-growth is impeded, reducing and eliminating the bumps caused by ingrown hairs. Our extensive experience tells us that for coarse black hair you can expect to need at least 6-8 treatments to each treatment area for long lasting, optimal results. One or two annual touch-up treatments may be required after completing the initial treatment series.

Average treatment series
Only a portion of your hair is in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Therefore, a series of treatments (at least 6- 8) will be required to achieve the long-term improvement you desire. These treatments are spaced approximately 4-12 weeks apart, based on anatomical position and hair growth cycles.

Typical treatment sessions
Sessions to treat the neck or bikini area can take as little as 15 minutes, while a full beard and neck may take 45 minutes.

Laser Permanent Hair Reduction. The permanent reduction of unwanted hair from virtually any part of the body. Hair reduction may be used for all skin colors, including tanned skin. Only 30% or less of your hair may be in the active growth phase at any one time depending on the body area. Thus, a series of treatments will be required to achieve the long-term improvement you desire. These treatments are spaced approximately 4-12 weeks apart, based
on anatomical position and hair growth cycles. Our extensive experience tells us that for coarse
black hair you can expect to need from 6-8 treatments to each treatment area for long lasting, optimal results. Finer, lighter colored hair needs more treatments.

Typical treatment sessions
Sessions for an upper lip or small bikini area can take as little as 15 minutes, while larger areas on back and legs may require up to 60 minutes or more.

What should I expect after treatment?
After you have completed a series of four to six treatments, any remaining hair will usually be finer and lighter in color. Most patients require one or two touch-up treatments per year. Blond,
platinum, most red, gray and vellus hair will not respond to this treatment.

Eliminate unsightly spider veins and broken capillaries. With our advanced laser systems, you will see noticeable improvements after one or two treatments.

Lunchtime and Weekend Laser Peel. Improves skin texture with minimal downtime, and freshens appearance. We’re pleased to offer Lunchtime and Weekend Laser Peels using the Venus i laser system to improve damaged skin, eliminate age spots and reduce fine wrinkles and superficial scarring. The Weekend Peel will give you more dramatic results but you will need to plan for four to five days of “downtime”.

Safe and effective treatments
Bala Family Practice uses the most advanced laser technology for superficial skin resurfacing. The benefit of this procedure is that it can be performed with minimal down time.

How does it work?
The laser energy delivered with the Venus i laser is highly absorbed by water in the superficial layer of the skin. This results in ablation or reduction of the superficial skin. Your Bala Family Practice medical professional will analyze your skin condition and help you select the most effective treatment
for you.

When will you see results?
Effects are cumulative. After the first treatment you will see improvements in pigment and skin texture within a few days. Other improvements will be more subtle and may take one to three months.
Friends may suggest that you look more rested. With each subsequent treatment, subtle changes will accumulate until you have achieved the improvement you desire.

How often can you have it done?
A series of three to five treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart, is our standard recommendation. Occasionally, more treatments may be needed for certain individuals or conditions. Periodic occasional maintenance treatments may be prescribed for optimal, lasting results.

What can you expect immediately after treatment?
Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness and swelling. The redness and swelling usually dissipates within one to three days. Then peeling may occur for one to three days. Makeup may be applied to the treated area with physician approval. It is extremely important to apply a moisturizer and SPF 45 sun block and avoid sun exposure on a daily basis to reduce any potential side effects.

How long does it take?
This treatment takes approximately 15-30 minutes. If prescribed, topical anesthetics should be applied 30-90 minutes before the treatment time.

Acne Treatments for Adults and Teens. This new approach reduces acne by using the body’s own natural defenses. We’re pleased to offer a revolutionary new approach for adult and teen acne sufferers. New research has shown our laser is a safe and effective treatment for acne on the face, chest
or back.

What are the benefits?
Laser acne treatments offer a no down-time approach to help clear acne lesions and help reduce the severity of future break-outs. You can return to work or school immediately after treatment – the only side effect will be slight facial redness. Laser treatments do not have the side effects seen with oral and topical treatments. Laser treatments do not induce prolonged
dryness, severe redness or mental depression.

How does it work?
Your Bala Family Practice medical professional will analyze your skin condition and help you select the most effective treatment for you.

When will you see results?
Effects are cumulative. After the first treatment, you may see up to a 30% improvement. The number of lesions and severity of break-outs should reduce over the course of treatment and
beyond. Some patients continue to improve two months after their last treatment.

How often can you have it done?
The typical course of treatments is four weeks, two treatments per week. However, your doctor might recommend a different treatment schedule.

What can you expect immediately after treatment?
Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness and slight swelling. The redness and swelling usually dissipate within one to three days. If necessary, makeup can be applied to the treated area immediately. It is extremely important to apply a moisturizer and
SPF 45 sun block and avoid sun exposure on a daily basis to prevent sun damage.
